What's a Celebirdie?

Celebirdies are celebrities that use social media to connect with their fans. Social networking sites like Twitter, Facebook and MySpace enable fans to stay up to date with their favorite stars in the same place as they would normally keep in touch with friends and coworkers. Celebirdies.com takes that one step further, by creating intimate portraits using celebrity produced material (i.e. tweets and pics) and puts it all together in one easy to navigate website.

What is Twitter?

Seriously? You really have to ask? OK...in a nutshell, Twitter is a micro-blogging service. It gives people the ability to write small messages that are viewable to the public. These messages can be as mundane as "I'm getting coffee", or as profound as "It's a boy!". Throw some follower/following relationships in the mix, and you have a platform for instant online publication.

What are TwitPics?

Twitter only provides text-based communication in the form of "tweets", however, sites like TwitPic are built on top of Twitter to integrate other types of media, such as photos or videos. Just like millions of other users, celebrities have been snapping photos and posting them on sites like TwitPic. Celebridies.com grabs the feed of each celebrities TwitPic profile and combines it with their most recent tweets.

What makes Celebirdies different from other Twitter-like sites?

Celebirdies combines celebrity tweets and pics into a social network like interface. The idea is to have one place where you can view your favorite celebs tweets, pics, and later on, video, and interact with it. This interaction comes in the form of bookmarking, posting on other social networks, or re-tweeting on Twitter.
